BELLINGHAM, Wash. — The first KISM Charity Chili Chowder Cookoff happened February 5th. The event had 12 participating restaurants, 3 local sponsors and 300 people paid their $15 admission fee at the door to taste, vote on their favorite Chili or Chowder and support our local charity – Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services of Whatcom County (DVSAS).
Between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, $4,600 had been raised for donation to DVSAS!
“We appreciate all the work that KISM and Gruff Brewing put in to host the cookoff and we’re incredibly grateful to all the restaurants who donated their time, energy, and skills to make the event such an amazing success.” said DVSAS Development Director Marjie George. “The $4,600 that this event raised means that we can provide almost 200 hours of supportive advocacy services to local survivors.”
