Charlottesville, VA – May 5, 2023 – The Charlottesville Radio Group’s annual Cares for Kids Radiothon was a huge success, raising $67,000 for the UVA Children’s Hospital. The event took place on May 3rd and 4th and featured live broadcasts from four local radio stations, including Z95.1, 106.1 The Corner, 99.7 CYK, and NewsRadio WINA.
During the two-day event, listeners were encouraged to call in and make donations to support the UVA Children’s Hospital. Many donors shared their personal stories and experiences with the hospital, highlighting the important role it plays in the Charlottesville community.
“We are thrilled to have raised $67,000 for the UVA Children’s Hospital through our Cares for Kids Radiothon,” said Garrett Klingel, General Manager of the Charlottesville Radio Group. “The hospital provides critical care to children in our community, and we are proud to support its important work.”
The funds raised through the radiothon will support the UVA Children’s Hospital’s mission of providing world-class medical care to children in need. This includes funding for research, equipment, and programs that help to improve the health and well-being of young patients and their families.
