Gown Town Helps Hundreds of Lafayette, Indiana High School Girls Find the Perfect Prom Dress

LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Lafayette Media Group stations K-105 (WKOA-FM) and B102.9 (WXXB-FM) proudly celebrated another successful Gown Town event on Thursday, March 5, 2026, at Tippecanoe Mall, helping hundreds of area high school girls prepare for prom at no cost.

The annual event, held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., welcomed hundreds of students who lined up for the opportunity to browse through hundreds of donated prom dresses collected from generous individuals and organizations throughout the community. Each student was able to select and take home a dress free of charge, helping make prom dreams a reality for families who may otherwise struggle with the cost of formal attire.

“Gown Town continues to be one of the most meaningful events we host each year,” said Mike Shamus, General Manager of Lafayette Media Group. “Not every family can afford a new prom dress. But, thanks to the incredible support of our local community, we’re able to help hundreds of high school girls be able to attend their prom.”

Since its inception in 2010, Gown Town has become a cherished community tradition in Greater Lafayette. The event reflects Lafayette Media Group’s ongoing commitment to serving local families and creating opportunities that positively impact the lives of area students.

Lafayette Media Group extends its heartfelt thanks to everyone who donated dresses and to the partnership with the Tippecanoe Mall. Their generosity helped ensure another successful year of providing prom dresses and creating lasting memories for local high school girls.
