The 2021 Jonesboro Radio Group “Light Up Their Hearts” winner has been revealed and surprised!
Partnering with Ground Crew LLC Christmas Decor Division and Fat City Steak and Grill House, JRG presented this year’s award to Staci Gibson, of Jonesboro, who is a teacher at MacArthur Junior High School. She was diagnosed with breast cancer recently and will be fighting that battle during the holiday season, starting with surgery in two days.
Staci won Christmas lights and decorations outside of her home, professionally placed by Ground Crew LLC, and a $500 Visa Gift Card from Fat City Steak and Grill House.
Gibson was selected after she received numerous nominations from people she has impacted throughout her life. Below is just one of the nominations we received on behalf of Staci Gibson in the Light Up Their Hearts Contest:
“Mrs. Staci Gibson is truly one of the brightest shining teachers and human beings I know. She goes the extra 50 miles for all students and staff who need her, and even those who don’t. She spends her own money on students continually. She ministers to students just in the way she treats them and provides such a beautiful example to show that someone truly loves and cares for them. She does the same things for our staff. Staci was diagnosed with breast cancer completely out of the blue very recently and with no warning. She is one of the brightest lights in Jonesboro and a lifelong resident. Staci is one of our own and nobody deserves this honor and display of community love more than Staci Gibson. Please consider her for this amazing award and honor. She loves you too, even if you haven’t met her yet.”
As Gibson drove down the street toward her home, she drove up to a crowd of familiar faces – family, friends and colleagues. There in front of her home were Ground Crew LLC trucks, JRG vans, along with a crowd of neighbors, radio DJs and personnel, and cameras.
104.9 The Fox personalities Jim Frigo, Mitch Mahan and the JRG team cheerfully greeted her and warmly explained what she had won as she was getting out of the car.
Soon, Staci and her family were standing in front of the Gibson home to watch as the newly placed lights lit up all around them.

Congratulations to Staci and her family on being this year’s recipient. We will be praying for you over the course of the weeks and months to come as you begin your fight.
