Charleston, SC (March 24, 2026) – The hearts of the Lowcountry shone brightly as Charleston Media Solutions wrapped up its 6th annual Cares for Kids Radiothon, raising an incredible $281,904 to support the life-changing work at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital.
For 26 hours over two days, March 19th and 20th, three local radio stations — WMXZ-FM, Mix 95.9, WCKN-FM, 92.5 Kickin’ Country, and WXST-FM, Star 99.7 — broadcast live from the lobby of the Children’s Hospital. Sharing inspiring stories from patients and families, the Radiothon celebrated the miracles happening every day inside this world-class facility.
The MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital is South Carolina’s #1 children’s hospital, a state-of-the-art 250-bed pediatric and women’s health center offering advanced care in more than 26 specialties.
Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of the community, this year’s Radiothon brings the six-year total raised for the hospital to more than $1.25 million! “Every dollar raised helps keep miracles happening at MUSC Shawn Jenkins Children’s Hospital,” said Market Manager Paul O’Malley.
