CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. — Charlottesville Media Group’s 11th Annual Cares for Kids
Radiothon raised $66,446 for UVA Health Children’s, bringing the event’s lifetime
fundraising total to more than $660,000.
Broadcasted May 12-13 across Charlottesville Media Group’s radio stations, the radiothon
featured stories from patients, families, caregivers, and hospital staff, inspiring listeners
throughout Central Virginia to support local children and families receiving care at UVA
Health Children’s.
“Year after year, this community steps up in an incredible way to support the Cares for Kids
Radiothon,” said Garrett Klingel, President and General Manager of Charlottesville Media
Group. “We’re grateful to every donor, sponsor, volunteer, and listener who helped make a
difference for children and families across our region.”
Funds raised through the radiothon support patient and family programs at UVA Health
Children’s, including child-life services and charitable assistance that helps families
manage expenses such as transportation, lodging, meals, clothing, and medical care.
“We are incredibly thankful for the generosity of this community and Charlottesville Media
Group,” said Erin Chandler, Associate Director of Development for UVA Health Children’s.
“These funds help provide critical support and resources for families when they need them
most.”
